Yes folks Michael Phelps will be one of the presenter at the 2008 video music awards. Wow , isn’t that cool, Michael can almost do anything, he does comedy, writes books, mixes it up with the hottest stars in music and Hollywood. With all this stuff, does he still needs swimming?

Gold medal hero Michael Phelps will host the upcoming season premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 13.
In front of a live audience, the 23-year-old swimmer will kicked off the 34th season of the NBC show with musical guest Lil Wayne. The season will open with an unprecedented eight consecutive new shows.
During the Beijing games, Phelps professed to having the hip hop artist on his iPod before races.
Phelps will also be dropping by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday, Sept. 8.
The season premiere of Saturday Night Live will air on Sept 13. @ 11:30PM ET/PT on NBC.

Olympic Superstar Michael Phelps will write a book telling the story behind his 8 gold medal swims.
In “Built to Succeed,” Phelps will also cover his philosophy on training and competition, as well as his life being raised by a single mother and coping with an attention-deficit disorder, the publisher said.
This book is scheduled to be released on December.

“He is in the top tier of athletics and now he’s going to get his tryout as a personality,” said John Sweeney, director of sports communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication. “And Tiger Woods sure passed, but Mark Spitz didn’t. And there are plenty of people who they try to develop the whole persona around and two years later it’s gone.”
